Stir-Fried Spicy Swiss Chard

Ingredients A    
1 Bunch Swiss Chard
     
Ingredients B  
1 Tbs. Oil
3 Slices Ginger
½  Cup   Water or Broth
1+    tsp.   Garlic Chili Sauce 
½+  tsp.  Crushed Red Pepper   
  Dash Salt
     
     
     
     

 

  1. Wash and cut Swiss chard into 1-1½ inch segments.
  2. Pour oil in wok, with high heat, add ginger, and then stir-fry Swiss chard.
  3. Add remaining ingredients from B, stir-fry some more, and then allow the vegetable to simmer in the spicy liquid for a couple of minutes. (Please note: chard stems may take longer time to cook. Therefore, cooking time will be determined based on individual’s preference on chard’s tenderness.)
  4. Remove from heat and serve.

If you wish to cook a non-spicy version of this dish, do not include garlic chili sauce and crushed red pepper, instead add more salt to desired taste.
